CRT IS HERE TO STAY
CRT is here to stay because it has total control of the commanding heights of our culture and worldview: Our Universities. Nothing in today’s world has the power to shape our worldview that our universities have. And since most of the people who shape our worldview will pass through our universities at a time when they are shaping their own worldview, there is little that we can do to stop CRT.
Nearly everyone in the media, Hollywood, news stations, magazines, influential blogs and internet essays, and newspapers will pass through our universities. Even if an individual is not swayed to the progressive side they will not be armed with information needed to fight back because they will not be introduced to any view that is not PC.
Why does this matter ? Every civilization has a world view which is the basic set of ideas that provide meaning and purpose .
The source of our beliefs and views are no longer dominated by Western religious views as translated into Western Civilization.
In the West our world view is that there is a moral order embedded in the world that is universal and eternal , and this moral order was and should be the basis for the best civilization the world has produced- Western Civilization. It emphasized such ideas as democracy, the rule of law, individualism, and equality before the law, freedom, science, logic and reason.
One rule is called individualism. This is the ideal that each person should be judged by their character not by a secondary characteristic of being human being, such as skin color. This rule is being undercut by affirmative action and CRT.
Another idea that is under attack: This nation state was, until recently, thought to be the perfect vehicle for Western Civilization. In recent years the CRT types have chipped away at the nation state. Now the proudest boast of many teachers at all levels, is that they are” citizens of the world.”
There is also the influence of not being made aware of any other view except the politically correct point of view. There will be a few who escape the influence of CRT/PC/etc. But it is a matter of numbers, and the numbers are on the side of the intellectuals who run our universities and those who must pass through the universities on the way to positions of influence.-and being able to influence your children.
A popular ethical question asked in high school and college is “Should we have dropped two atomic bombs on Japan ?” Tough question.
Or you can read through the book, and look at the pictures in The Rape of Nanking and your question is more likely to be –Why so few? Can we make more today and have them ready in a week? Few students today will read The Rape of Nanking.
People who have faith that the left/woke can be defeated probably have little idea how pervasive the influence of the left really is. Nor are most folks likely to think about the role of our universities.
The stance taken by the teachers unions is on the left. See the ad for a pamphlet “How to be a Global Citizen” on the website of the ATF, one of the two biggest teachers unions. So far as I know there is no such thing as democracy and freedom outside of the nation state. Rarely is this mentioned as students go through college on their way to become teachers. Teachers are subject to endless hours of the leftist point of view in college classes, lectures, conferences and books. This onslaught will continue beyond college and throughout the rest of a teacher’s life.
There is scarcely a conservative view on the TV news. Yes there is FOX, but they have their own problems.
Books that do not have a PC point of view will not come into view for most people. Books that could challenge the PC view will not be seen by most teachers K-12 and probably not for college or graduate school students -from whence come your new teachers.
The best sellers written by conservatives do become best sellers when written by conservative celebrities but they are rarely noticed by those who not already members of the tribe.
There is one major news source, the WSJ. It is one of the two most important newspapers in America. We give thanks.
Altogether the left/progressives/CTR believers are much more numerous and higher and more influential on the cultural food chain.
